Embodied Interactive System

This installation transforms the body into an instrument of control. A field of particles fills the screen, responding in real time to whoever stands before it: repelled by presence, attracted by gesture, sculpted by touch.

The system evolves through four distinct phases, each redefining what the body can do. In the first phase, the particle grid holds its form, pushed and pulled by movement and the fingertip. In the second, the particles explode outward and fall. Visitors can scoop them up with an open hand and place them back, letting gravity draw them down again. In the third, the grid becomes a horizontal stream flowing in both directions, disrupted by fast movement and calm in stillness. In the final phase, a pinch gesture reshapes the particles themselves. Opening the fingers blooms them large, closing them shrinks them small, and each pinch flips the system to a new color from a curated palette.

Nothing in the system is passive. Every behavior is designed to reward curiosity: the more you move, the more the system responds. Stand still, and it settles around you. Move fast, and it scatters. Point a finger, and the particles chase it. Pinch, and the whole visual language shifts.

Built for multiple users, the installation is designed for shared play. Two people can work against each other or together, one repelling while the other attracts, one drawing while the other erases.
